Hovered Securities

An order-driven market for Bangladeshi equities, built to be looked at closely.

Hovered Securities matches buyers and sellers on a continuous limit order book, in Bangladeshi taka ( BDT). Every order, amendment, cancellation and trade is recorded and can be replayed. Prices are set by what people are willing to pay — there is no market maker and no house position.

Capital is at risk. The value of an investment can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you put in.

How it works

An exchange, not a simulation of one

The matching, the price limits, the circuit breakers, the settlement of cash against shares and the audit trail are enforced by the database rather than by this interface. Six things that follow from that.

  • A continuous limit order book

Buyers and sellers meet directly. Best price first, and between two orders at the same price, whichever arrived first. There is no market maker and no house position on the other side of your trade.

  • Price bands and circuit breakers

Each security may only trade inside a daily band around its last closing price, and halts itself if it moves too far too fast. Both are checked before an order is accepted, not after.

  • Cash and shares move together

Settlement happens in the same database transaction as the match. A trade either completes on both sides or does not happen at all - there is no window in which the money has moved and the shares have not.

  • Every action is on the record

Orders, amendments, cancellations, fills and every operator intervention are written to an audit trail with who did it and when. The sequence can be replayed from the database alone.

  • Nothing is taken out of a trade

No commission, no account fee, no custody fee, no spread taken. A trade moves exactly price multiplied by quantity between the two accounts - what the review screen shows you is what leaves your balance.

  • You sign in to trade, not to look

The board, the prices, the rules, the fee schedule and the service status are all readable with no account. An identity is required at the point where an order is placed, and not before.

Sessions

When the market trades

When you can trade
Continuously, whenever the exchange is running. Orders are accepted, matched and settled at any hour - there is no opening or closing bell.
End of the trading day
An operator closes the session. That records the day’s open, high, low and close for every security that traded, and sets the reference price the next day’s price limits are measured from.
Holidays
None are observed. A real exchange follows a published holiday calendar; this one does not have one, and does not pretend to.
When trading stops
A security halts automatically if its price moves past its circuit breaker, and an operator can halt or suspend one at any time. Halts are shown on the market page and on the security itself.

Costs

What it costs

Commission
None. No fee is charged for placing, changing or cancelling an order.
Cost of a trade
Exactly the price multiplied by the quantity, and nothing else. What the review screen shows you before you confirm is what leaves your account.
Account charges
None. There is no account fee, custody fee, inactivity fee or withdrawal fee.
Why that is unusual
A licensed exchange charges brokerage, a regulatory levy and a settlement fee, and they materially change what a trade costs. This system charges nothing because it settles nothing - no money leaves it and no shares are held anywhere outside its own database.

The rulebook

How trading works here

The rules the matching engine enforces on every order. They are the main reason an order gets refused, so they are worth reading once.

Price limits
Each security may only trade within a band around yesterday’s closing price. The band is set per security and is shown on its page before you order.
Price steps
Orders must be priced in whole multiples of the security’s tick size. A price between two ticks is rejected rather than rounded.
Lot size
Some securities trade in lots. An order must be a whole multiple of the lot size for that security.
Order types
Limit orders rest on the book until they fill or you cancel them. Market orders fill immediately at the best available prices, and anything that cannot fill is cancelled rather than left waiting.
Priority
Best price first; between orders at the same price, whichever arrived first. Changing an order creates a new one, so it goes to the back of the queue at its price.
